How Static & Ben El’s new single fits in with Saban Music Group’s strategy to ‘think globally’

Ambitious new global music group Saban continues to make progress with the release today (October 30) of Static & Ben El’s latest single – Shake Ya Boom Boom – in collaboration with Black Eyed Peas.

Static and Ben El were behind Continue to, the first release on the Saban Music Group, which is supported to the tune of $ 500 million by entertainment mogul Haim Saban.

This track, which launched in January of this year, has recorded nearly 40 million views on YouTube and 80 million streams on various platforms, was No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart, and reached the Top 10 of the American classification of Vevo.

Shake Ya Boom Boom is accompanied by a video shot in a vertical / smartphone style featuring TikTok, YouTube and Boomerang Instagram clips from Static & Ben El, as well as members of Black Eyed Peas and several influencers, all with a combined total reach of 50 million of fans on social networks.

Here Gustavo Lopez, CEO of Saban Music Group, talks to MBW about the new track, the duo’s global potential, the impact of collaborations and the importance of laser focus …

Remind us how Static and Ben El were among the first signings of Saban?

Static and Ben El are Israel-based superstars with international reach – their YouTube videos are approaching 600 million views combined.

Haim Saban quickly recognized their global potential and signed them on.

Static & Ben El were signed before the official launch of Saban Music Group and it can be said that they were one of the catalysts in its formation.

How did this collaboration with Black Eyed Peas come about?

The long-standing relationship between and Haim is what motivated the connection.

Haim introduced Static & Ben to Will and the rest is history. Quite interesting, Shake Ya Boom Boom was originally called No translation. really liked the track but felt it needed the BEP touch so it turned into what we are experiencing today.

What are your hopes for Shake Ya Boom Boom in terms of how it grows Static and Ben El’s global presence and continues to establish them as artists?

Static and Ben El were preparing to tour the United States when COVID hit. So instead, they used the time to focus on the music. We didn’t want the pandemic to slow down the process of spreading music; we wanted to release Shake Ya Boom Boom as soon as possible, and our challenge was how to make a video during those times.

The guys got a Zoom call to talk about creativity and came up with the idea to shoot it remotely, and include 25 influencers.

As Static & Ben El continue to grow their fan base outside of Israel, we have had the opportunity to collaborate with international superstars. They took the right angle to stardom, they’ve already collaborated with J Balvin, Pitbull, Flip Dinero and have even more surprises in collaboration with superstars.

What are your long-term ambitions for them?

Static & Ben El make music that seduces the whole world. We’re building an international tour number, and we can’t wait to be back.

Until then, they will continue to make music, collaborate with world-class artists, and research innovative ways to connect with fans in this current climate.

And finally, where is Saban in his evolution to become a major international force – and how crucial is the next 3-6 months of this trip?

SMG is a startup and from day one we said what sets us apart is our approach and our 360/50/50 model. We will only be signing a select number of artists so our team can be laser focused and committed to their success.

Our roster currently consists of mainstream and Latin artists, all with international appeal. We are aggressively recording, collaborating and working with some of the world’s greatest artists to help bring our artists to a global audience.

The next 3-6 months are crucial as the content creation is in place and we have a solid release schedule for 2021.
